Too Hot To Handle – Amir’s Pitch in The Hit

And so it was that on March 2, 2014, I had my 15 minutes of fame on Dutch national television… probably even less! I was featured in Episode 2 of the new TV show ‘The Hit’ with 5 other songwriters, each stalled in a freight container in which we pitched our songs to two artists.

If I had known that a female singer would also enter my container I would’ve pitched another song, but weeks earlier I chose to audition with ‘Too Hot To Handle, a funky, male uptempo track with Waylon in mind since his name was dropped in the media at the time to be part of the show as an artist. Long story short, Waylon picked two other songs to work with and eventually delivered another great new single.

As for me, I’m happy that I entered the competition because I had fun and met nice people. The support from people around me before and during the show was great, and with a big smile I noticed my song was in a comfortable second place in the show’s app, in which the home audience could play along by predicting the episode’s hits.
